Tight oil reservoir production characteristics developed by CO2 huff ‘n’ puff under well pattern conditions

چکیده

Abstract Tight oil reservoirs have poor physical properties, and the problems including rapid rate decline low recovery degree are quite common after volume fracturing. To obtain a general understanding of tight reservoir production improvement by CO 2 huff ‘n’ puff, high-pressure properties typical samples measured. Combining parameters, characteristics developed puff numerically studied on basis highly fitted experimental results. The results show that: (1) during natural depletion stage, decreases rapidly is because decrease in displacement energy increase fluid seepage resistance. (2) can improve development effect supplementing improving mobility, but gradually worsens with increasing cycle number. (3) earlier injection timing is, better less sufficient utilization is. When carrying out stimulation, full use should be made energy, appropriate determined comprehensively considering formation-saturation pressure difference rate. research helpful for strengthening puff.

An Experimental Investigation of Feasibility of Gas Huff and Puff for Recovering Crude Oil with Different Viscosities

Investigating multi cyclic gas (N2 and CO2) huff and puff have been conducted by long sandpack simulations with four different crude oils from Jiangsu oilfield. According to the production differential pressure and the production regularity during huff and puff, the production process was divided into three sections; the first one is free gas production section; the second section is low viscou...

Integrating Embedded Discrete Fracture and Dual-Porosity, Dual-Permeability Methods to Simulate Fluid Flow in Shale Oil Reservoirs

Abstract: The oil recovery factor from shale oil remains low, about 5 to 7% of the oil in place. How to increase oil recovery from shale oil reservoirs is attracting more and more attention. CO2 huff-and-puff was historically considered one of the best approaches to improve the oil rate. Most previous simulation studies have been based on dual porosity, but simulation results from dual-porosity...

Simulation Study of CO2-EOR in Tight Oil Reservoirs with Complex Fracture Geometries

The recent development of tight oil reservoirs has led to an increase in oil production in the past several years due to the progress in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing. However, the expected oil recovery factor from these reservoirs is still very low. CO2-based enhanced oil recovery is a suitable solution to improve the recovery. One challenge of the estimation of the recovery is ...

Measurement of the Rheology of Crude Oil in Equilibrium with CO2 at Reservoir Conditions

A rheometer system to measure the rheology of crude oil in equilibrium with carbon dioxide (CO2) at high temperatures and pressures is described. The system comprises a high-pressure rheometer which is connected to a circulation loop. The rheometer has a rotational flow-through measurement cell with two alternative geometries: coaxial cylinder and double gap. The circulation loop contains a mix...
